Regional Director of Sales - Midwest Region

The Regional Director of Sales, Midwest Region, reports directly to the Vice President of Sales. The position is a quota carrying, individual contributor role covering the Midwest States (OH,IL,IN,MI,WI,MN,NE,MO,IA,ND,SD). Qualified applicants should have at least 10 years experience selling complex enterprise solutions to Fortune 1000 companies in the Mid West Region states. They should also have a demonstrated track record of over-achievement and quota attainment in prior positions, with a mix of large company and smaller start up experience. A strong entrepreneurial spirit is required, as well as the ability to evangelize a message into the emerging Customer Operations Performance Management market. A familiarity with the Call Center market and Business Intelligence market is preferred but not required. Executive selling skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with C-Level executives is required. Candidates should have a minimum 4 year Bachelor Degree, with an MBA or higher degree preferred.

Job Responsibilities include: Generating revenue-producing relationships with targeted accounts in a defined territory; initiating and coordinating account strategies with an Inside Sales and Sales Engineering Team; evangelizing the benefits of Customer Operations Performance Management and developing ROI's to drive sales; and managing the pricing and closing process in a timely manner. Senior Sales Engineer

Merced is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to join our team. This person needs to be highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and able to articulate technical and business value to a variety of audiences. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Effectively support early and late stage deals to establish Merced as the technical leader in the Customer Operations Performance Management space.
  • Sell consultatively to senior executives and develop a deep understanding of customer business processes and technical landscape
  • Work in tandem with Merced Account Executives to develop and deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations
  • Work with Merced Client Services and customer resources to develop hardware recommendations and detailed statement of work documents
  • Maintain and enhance Merced sales demo instances to keep up with product releases and create the best possible external image
  • Development of ROI models based on customer requirements and information.
  • Lead Merced “Proof of Concept” and “Pilot” activities with larger customers involving integration to various call center and data sources, identification and mapping of KPI's and business workflow processes, and customization of the Merced Performance Suite application to demonstrate value within the customer's unique environment.
  • Work closely with Product Management to distill marketplace requirements into product enhancements

Required skills and relevant experience include:

  • 5+ years of Sales Engineering experience in the enterprise software marketplace
  • Prior employment in a hands-on technical role (developer, architect, client services)
  • Strong technical aptitude, and experience with the following technologies: Java, J2EE, Oracle, MSSQL, SQL, Windows, Linux
  • Prior experience with CRM, Business Intelligence, or Call Center application companies — e.g. Avaya, Genesys, Nortel, IEX, Aspect, Siebel, SAP, Peoplesoft, Clarify, Genesys, Cisco, Epiphany
  • A proven track record of performance in highly technical and competitive sales environments
  • Experience in early-stage company environments - can include new divisions within larger companies
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex sales opportunities simultaneously
  • Ability to deliver value propositions to customer's senior staff and navigate all key functions within large customer organizations (e.g. IT, Finance, Operations)
  • Confident and energetic; professional and team-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Strategic thinker with a strong technical aptitude
  • Vertical market selling experience including Banking, Credit cards, Insurance, Telcos, Healthcare and others
  • 4 Year Bachelor degree in a technical field

This position is based at our headquarter location in Redwood Shores . Pay is competitive with Industry Standards and includes Base, Commission, Company Performance Bonus, Stock Options, Health Benefits, and 401K Plan with company matching.
