Job Opening: Sr. Manager/Director Product Marketing
Merced Systems is seeking a Product Marketing Sr. Manager or Director to join our team. This person needs to be highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and will be responsible for the outbound marketing activities of Merced’s products and solutions. You will craft the messaging and positioning for the products. You'll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial. In your role as the Product Marketing Manager you will be the expert in buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel.

As Product Marketing Manager you must be able to interface effectively and establish quick credibility and confidence with: Product Management, R&D, Customer Support, Business Operations, Sales, Analysts, Partners, Press and Direct Customers. This requires an extremely talented and flexible individual with strong presentation skills, adept business knowledge, organizational abilities, and who is capable of bridging customer business requirements to technical feature set and broader market trends, indices, and capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in a rapidly growing pre-IPO enterprise application software company.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Merced’s products and solutions in the market
• Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of Merced’s products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products
• Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
• Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to crush them
• Demand generation – develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products

Requirements
• 7+ years of software product marketing experience with at least 2 years experience in a field facing role
• Bachelor’s in business or marketing, MBA preferred
• Very strong written communication skills
• Willing to travel 30%
• Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
• Confident and energetic; professional and team-oriented
• Prior experience with CRM, Business Intelligence, Compensation or Contact Center application companies – e.g. Siebel, SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft, Clarify, Genesys, Cisco, Epiphany, Callidus
